Expanding for Your Benefit
June 26, 2012 (Saskatoon, SK) – We’re Expanding for Your Benefit! Saskatchewan Blue Cross® is proud to announce a major expansion of its Second Avenue office in Saskatoon.
“Saskatchewan Blue Cross has experienced significant growth in recent years and we’ve outgrown our current building,” said Arnie Arnott, President & CEO of Saskatchewan Blue Cross. “We started bursting at the seams in 2006 and, that year, moved our Sales team to an adjacent office space. In 2009, we leased off-site office space for our Claims and Disability Management teams, and we continue to face a significant shortfall of space in our main office.”
Saskatchewan Blue Cross was founded in 1946 to serve Saskatchewan people. The company is a leader in benefit solutions—providing supplementary health as well as life and disability benefits—to support the improved health and wellness of Saskatchewan people. The main office is located at 516 Second Avenue North in Saskatoon, with a recently expanded office at 1870 Albert Street in Regina.
“The economic boom in our province has been very positive for our business. We’ve seen strong demand for our benefit plans and we anticipate continued growth,” said Arnott. “Our 54-year history at our current Second Avenue location contributed to the decision to expand the existing office. Our last expansion at this office was completed in 1996. The present expansion of nearly 40,000 sq. ft. will provide an excellent experience for customers and the best possible work environment for employees.”
Saskatchewan Blue Cross recently acquired the three properties located adjacent to the main office, and demolition of those buildings will begin shortly. With the completion of the three-floor expansion, the office footprint will increase to 60,000 sq. ft. The space will accommodate all Saskatoon staff and allow room for future growth. The principles of Sustainable Design Strategy played an important role in the expansion planning process, and sustainability will be reflected in many design elements.
“Investment in and on behalf of Saskatchewan people is a top priority for us. We are expanding for your benefit—for the Saskatchewan people and employers who are our customers today, and for our future customers,” said Arnie Arnott. “We take great pride in being able to meet face-to-face with our customers. With this significant expansion, we will be well positioned to continue the high level of service our customers deserve and have come to expect from us.”
