Get Our Community Moving Challenge
The Get Our Community Moving Challenge powered by Saskatchewan Blue Cross starts today! Throughout Saskatchewan, people are getting a little more active in support of healthy, happy, active kids.
Saskatchewan Blue Cross and Saskatchewan in motion are pleased to announce that 18 Saskatchewan communities have accepted the challenge to get moving! Each community has identified a project to get more kids, more active, more often. Communities can rally support for their project by encouraging individuals and families to log their physical activity over the next two weeks. The community that logs the most physical activity by March 17th will win a $10,000 prize toward the completion of their project. The winner will be announced on March 21, 2014.
Communities participating in this year’s challenge include:
- Aberdeen
- Allan
- Arcola
- Dalmeny
- Davidson
- Denare Beach
- Fillmore
- Gull Lake
- La Ronge
- LeRoy
- Moose Jaw

- White City
“The key to success for a community is rallying as many participants as possible to be active”, says Cathie Kryzanowski, General Manager of Saskatchewan in motion. Tracking is easily done online and participants are not limited to the boundaries of the community.
Now in its third year, the Get Our Community Moving Challenge (formerly known as the Saskatchewan in motion Community Challenge) welcomes a new partner, the Saskatchewan Blue Cross.
“Like in motion, Saskatchewan Blue Cross is a province-wide organization that believes strongly in the importance of physical activity and the health and wellness of Saskatchewan children and youth. We are thrilled to have Saskatchewan Blue Cross as our partner this year”, says Kryzanowski.
Saskatchewan Blue Cross and Saskatchewan in motion challenge all Saskatchewan residents to get moving! You can support your favorite community, by logging your minutes of physical activity.
It’s all about having fun and getting more kids, more active, more often. For more details or to register as a participant, visit: challenge.saskatchewaninmotion.ca
